报告内容简介

Carbon nanobelts which resemble rigid double-stranded segments of carbon nanotube have attracted chemists decades ago due to their exotic structures as well as potential applications in material science and supramolecular chemistry. However, the organic synthesis of carbon nanobelts has only been realized recently due to the difficulties in constructing such highly strained compounds. In this presentation, the presenter will report the experience in the synthesis of carbon nanobelts including the rationale in the synthetic design and the analysis of the synthesized nanobelts.


报告人简介:

Kwan Yin Cheung was born in Hong Kong (1990). He received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2012. He received his PhD degree in chemistry in 2016 at the same university under the supervision of Prof. Qian Miao. He was a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Kenichiro Itami (Nagoya University) as a Croucher Fellow in 2018 to 2020. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Hong Kong Baptist University with Prof. Ken Cham-Fai Leung.
